Labiaplasties: Ethical and Medical Considerations (2021)

Dr. Sameena Rahman led a discussion for medical students to learn the healthy variation in the appearance of labias, ethics of providing labiaplasties for cosmetic reasons, and to explore the social factors behind why more people are seeking them in recent years.

Myths of the Female Orgasm (2023)

This event was inspired by the NYTimes article “Half the World has a Clitoris: Why Don’t Doctors Study It?" The article featured Dr. Rubin, the speaker for this event. This event highlighted the physiology of female orgasm, misconceptions,  & implications for patient care.

The Dilemma of Desire (2021)

A viewing & virtual discussion of the documentary “The Dilemma of Desire,” explored female desire and the impact of gender politics. Discussion of these gaps is important context for the care of patient with sexual concerns.

2024 Symposium on Female Sexual Medicine

For the 4th annual Symposium by the Forum, the theme was "Sexual Medicine Across Medicine", for trainees to how OB/GYNs, internists, urologists, psychiatrists, dermatologists and physiatrists treat patients experiencing sexual dysfunction.

2023 Symposium on Female Sexual Medicine

For the 3rd annual Symposium by the Forum, the theme was "Sexual Medicine Across the Lifetime", for trainees to learn about special considerations for adolescent to reproductive age to post-menopausal patients. Listen to the first two keynote lectures here.

2022 Symposium on Female Sexual Medicine

For the 2nd annual Symposium, students gained knowledge of an interdisciplinary and intersectional approach to female sexual medicine.

2021 Symposium on Female Sexual Medicine

For the 1st annual Symposium, students gained an introductory overview of female sexual medicine in the format of keynote lectures, a panel, and small group discussions.
